Koobface - facebook virus

New Post!

"You look funny in this new video", thats the subject for the mail you get in your facebook inbox. Please do not open it, its a VIRUS(WORM). It gives you a link and when you open it, it says "an update of Flash is needed before the video can be displayed", Then If the viewer approves the Flash installation, Koobface attempts to download a program called tinyproxy.exe. This loads a proxy server called Security Accounts Manager (SamSs) the next time the computer boots up. Koobface then listens to traffic on TCP port 9090 (To know more about TCP, check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ve7_4ot-Dzs) and proxies all outgoing HTTP traffic. For example, a search performed on Google, Yahoo, MSN, or Live.com may be hijacked to other, lesser-known search sites. Good news, only a few people were attacked, Instructions on how to remove the virus is on http://www.facebook.com/security.

New Post!

If your bored of searching for photos or you want fun, heres a trick. Go to google images and search any image, click on that image, click see full-size image and in the url box(address box where you type the web address) type this:
javascript:R=0; x1=.1; y1=.05; x2=.25; y2=.24; x3=1.6; y3=.24; x4=300; y4=200; x5=300; y5=200; DI=document.getElementsByTagName('img'); DIL=DI.length; function A(){for(i=0; i-DIL; i++){DIS=DI[ i ].style; DIS.position='absolute'; DIS.left=(Math.sin(R*x1+i*x2+x3)*x4+x5)+'px'; DIS.top=(Math.cos(R*y1+i*y2+y3)*y4+y5)+'px'}R++}setInterval('A()',5); void(0);

iPhone 3G ad Ban

New Post!

If you think only little kids get scolded, then you haven't seen iPhone. In the U.K, the new Iphone 3G ad which displays speed as really fast. In plain details, the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) in U.K put a ban on the new advertisment from iPhone showing the new iPhone 3G surfing the web at a fraction of a second, which 17 constumers says is misleading. iPhone in its defense said that the speed varied in different places, but ASA said that not everyone will undestand the techincal details. This isn't the 1st time either that they have got scolded at, it was the same with the iPhone 2G which claimed that users could view all the web contents but in fact, users couldn't use Flash and Java. So you see, even big companies get scolded at. Read more @http://news.cnet.com/8301-13579_3-10108679-37.html?tag=newsEditorsPicksArea.0 and don't forget to comment.

Internet in space

New Post!

In the nearby future as NASA builds moon bases on the moon, the Internet would get an upgrade. The technology is still being developed but the Military and some other organizations have their eyes on it. The idea is to send packets through satellites into space and radio stations on the moon will bounce it that back. This would help with geotagging, submarines would get information quicker and enable communication with the moon or other objects in space.

Tips! Customize time!

New Post alert!

During those times when the urgent need for high powered technical intelligence wanes a bit– especially on a slow Friday afternoon — try this fun trick and amaze your colleagues. Here’s how to make your “own” time by putting your name in the notification area next to the time.

  1. Access the Control Panel from the Start menu.
  2. Double click Regional and Language Options.
  3. Click the Customize button in the Standards And Formats panel of the Regional Options tab.
  4. When the Customize Regional Options dialog box appears, select the Time tab.
  5. In the AM Symbol and PM Symbol boxes, you can replace that text with your name or whatever word you want, as long as it is no longer than 12 characters.
  6. To complete the operation, click OK twice — once to close the Customize Regional Options dialog box and once to close the Regional And Language Options dialog box.

You’ll instantly see your name appear in the notification area right next to the time.
